The Cottrell Brewing Co. was formed back in 1996 as a family owned brewery by Charles and Ann Cottrell in honor of their heritage and family name. The brewery is in the same factory walls as where their ancestors worked and owned the C.B. Cottrell & Sons, Inc. (an 1800's manufacture of printing press).
Cottrell has been handcrafting flavorful, traditional beers in Pawcatuck, CT since 1997. Owner, Charlie Buffum, and his crew use only fresh, natural, quality ingredients to give the beers great flavor, body and depth. They have honed their craft and have grown steadily over the years and produce four year-round beers--Old Yankee Ale, Mystic Bridge, Perry's Revenge and Stonington Glory-- grounded in traditional recipes. They also offer special cask beers and barrel aged brews, and weekly nano brews at their tasting bar.

Around back of a General Dynamics building. Spacious tasting area open to brewing and bottling area. Single server but friendly and attentive. Contract bottler so you can see other breweries product stacked up.

Small area of the brewery set off from the brewhouse. Stand up bar good for 6 to 8 people. Eight beers on tap - including guest taps - knowledgeable bartender. Friendly atmosphere.
