Wondrous Brewing Company

 

Popped in on a Friday night, good crowd, but still plenty of space inside and out on the patio with space heaters. Tap list had a lot of cool options. There's a heavy emphasis on lagers of all colors and styles, but also some IPAs, a porter, a barleywine, and even a radler. Our bartender was super friendly and happy to guide you through the options. Everything we tried was fantastic, really wish I had more time to try a couple more, but they closed at 9 (a little early for a Friday night IMO but that seems to be their norm). Big props for offering a full variety of options including tasters and half pints, plus single cans to go. This place has been on my list to check out for a little while now, but it kept getting put off due to some of my long time favorite breweries being nearby. Really glad we finally made the time to check them out. It didn't take long for them to work their way right onto that list of favorites. I'm already excited to come back.

Great little brewery in Emeryville with a solid lineup of tasty brews. Their offerings include a great mix of German and continental brews, IPAs, and forays into many other styles.

 

Stylish, small space indoors, with a nice outdoor biergarden. They’re poised for expansion, and could very well have done so by the time I post this review. Service was fantastic, as was the beers. Grab something to go, and bring your growlers for whatever they don't have canned.

 

 

 

Clean tap room with a long bench on on side that offers two-person tables, and a long concrete bar opposite the room. Their patio is bordered by building walls on two sides, keeping the airflow and noise down. Outdoor seating ranges from two-top barrel 'tables' to picnic tables. Lots of variety. Their courtyard space also offers a spot for food vendors to setup, giving a close-by food option. Inside, their barrel room is walled in by glass, so patrons can gawk over future beers. Tap list is displayed on chalkboards above the bar. A double door cooler sits in the corner for to-go packs, apparently a recent addition prior to my visit. Staff is friendly and fun. Tap list selection leans heavily into lagers, or otherwise mild, but well executed, beers. For those seeking something a bit more bold, or hop-centric, this may not be the place. Wondrous does own and operate a single side-pull tap, which is sometimes used in conjunction with their Czech pilsner - a wonderful pairing. Overall, certainly worth a visit for those seeking a laid back, but modern, atmosphere and/or quality clean lagers.
