A dank and hazy East Coast style IPA hopped with Pacific Northwest and New Zealand hops, this juicy IPA is bound to leave you wanting more. Leading with strong tangerine flavors and notes of melon, lychee, and gooseberry, this refreshing IPA is almost too easy to drink.

Picked this up in Williamsburg by the Metropolitan and Lorimer stations on the Subway, but not sure when as there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can. Love the image of the Queensboro Bridge on the can and how Big aLICe takes pride in being from Long Island City but I wasn't sure if this was the regular or the DDH version as the label indicated the former but the ABV indicated the latter. Regardless, this was a decent IPA that was fine to enjoy but not as good as the recent offerings from nearby breweries...
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was amber and bright in hue with plenty of head to top it off. Most of the lacing left behind was in a thick ring near the center of my pint glass. Tons of tangerine, lychee, and deep floral notes in the nose as the date was just as tropical, dry, and exotic on the palate. Astringent, wild, and somewhat dry, the taste and feel of this beer was not that of IPA's from this neck of the woods as it felt like something from Florida or the tropics. Some grapefruit twang and bitterness kicked in as this warmed up with the malt being quite basic and recessed throughout my session.
Not a lot of booze in this and the carbonation was quite low as well. A faint and lasting amount of hop oils tied everything in together as this was quite easy to drink. A bit more carbonation, body, and crispness would have really made this great but as it was, it was a fun IPA that satisfied me and has me wondering when I'll finally get over to Big aLICe's brewery...

A: The beer is hazy orange yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that quickly settled down, leaving a patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of lychee fruit are present in the nose along with notes of melon. As the beer begins to warm up, some grapefruit also become noticeable.
T: The taste follows the smell and also has flavors of tangerines. Only a faint amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. No crispness is detectable.
O: This IPA is very easy to drink because it isn't overly heavy on the palate and especially bitter.
