Pours a slightly cloudy dark straw color. A fingernail length head retains well.
The nose opens with notes of smoked malt that intensify by the moment. Aromas of bready and toasted malts pair with floral spices. Aromas of grass, lemon, orange and honey BBQ sauce.
The taste highlights smoked malts as well as toasty, biscuity and crisp cracker malt, lightly sweet and dry. Well balanced with a grassy and peppery bitterness, as well as floral spices and citrusy flavors.
Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. The finish is crisp and dry with some smoky malt on the backend and bitterness in the aftertaste. The carbonation is moderate.
Nice smoked lager, very easy to drink and well balanced, as the smoke doesn’t overwhelm. I would have again.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles in the center and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of smoked malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but is a little stronger, having moderately strong flavors of smoked malts, which linger into the finish. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has nice smokey flavors but isn't nearly as intense as a Rauchbier. I didn't really get much in the way of iodine-like flavors in the taste, which could make this more drinkable for those who don't like those flavors.
