This Schwarzbier (German for 'black beer') is a wonderful dark lager with hints of coffee and chocolate. Smooth with a dry crisp finish, this beer has a roasted maltiness that is perfect in the colder months.

A: The beer is black when viewed from afar; when held up to a bright light traces of dark brown are visible near the edge of the glass. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a narrow collar around the edge and some lacing on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of dark malts are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has lots of flavors of dark malts and hints of coffee. While there is only a slight amount of bitterness, the underlying hops mostly serve to prevent any sweetness from the malts.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer might seem a little one dimensional but is very easy to drink while being rather malty.
