Very dark brown and clear. The head is creamy and dark chestnut, reaching one-half inch for about a minute. The head falls quickly to a thin froth, leaving some lace on a pint glass.
Fusel alcohol allows some Bourbon notes to be discernible. After acclimation, chocolate fudge becomes readily apparent.
Bourbon is strong with this one. The flavor follows with chocolate fudge and a bright orange tone. The finish is long with Bourbon starting powerfully and eventually settling to merely a strong presence.
The alcohol is warming and almost hot against the silky soft/smooth texture. Fine carbonation is soft and almost forgotten. There is a bit of astringency from the alcohol.
While enjoyable, the alcohol and its multiple effects on aroma in particular are over the top. I enjoyed this in a shady spot out back on a cool and sunny late-Spring afternoon.
