For this delicious Cream Stout we decided to use one of our favorite combos when it comes to sweets and desserts: chocolate and hazelnut!
The beer that was used as the base for this Cream Stout is very different from the others we used before. It was a blend between an Imperial Stout with 12% Abv and a BA Imperial Stout with 14% Abv that aged 12 months in a Casa del Sol mezcal barrel. Although the mezcal profile does not appear predominantly in the final product, it adds an incredible complexity to it.
To this base, after maturation, we added chocolate cream, hazelnut cream and coconut cream. The result is brilliant and will delight all the sweet tooths out there!

Copenhagen 22/1 2026. 44 cl can from The Beer Hive. Dark blue can with an organic plantlike knob and the tag line "Taste the Myth". Comes with a instruction on the top of the can: "Hard Shake before Open",
Pours opaque murky, muddy brown with a beige and muddy head. Settles in a brown and muddy mess smearing the glass and looking pretty awful.
Aroma is intense with a heavy sweet odor dark malts soon overpowered by sugary, candy.like pasty galore. Brown sugar, chocolate, wafers, caramel and toffee. Hazel nut and whipped cream. Liqueur-like alcohol.
Low carbonation. Thick, viscous, creamy, fat, flat texture. More yogurt than beer.
Flavor is intense with a heavy, sugary sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and sugary. Lingering, Finish is a little sticky and semi-dry. With a touch of alcohol.
A big, fat, ugly dessert.
