Our German brown ale is brewed with an exciting mix of barley malts. Traditional hops add subtle spicy tones. The recipe originates from the West German town of Duesseldorf, where people call it “Altbier”.

Pours a coppery red to light brown color with a nice head that dissipates fairly quickly.
Aroma is fruity spiciness.
The taste is malty with raisin, plum and clove.
Smooth and moderately dry with good carbonation.
Very enjoyable.

500ml bottle conditioned.
L: Russet colour with one finger of off-white head.
S: Sweet bready malt.
T: Follows the nose with the addition of raisin, plum and spicy clove.
F: Smooth body, some oiliness, moderately dry with foaming carbonation.
O: A fruity, yeasty version of the style. Works very well on this sunny bank holiday afternoon but I can see this working equally well inside on a dark Autumnal evening.
