Penguin Walk is a modern American Porter made with a variety of English and American chocolate malts creating complex cocoa and coffee notes. Hopped with HBC 471, an experimental hop variety from the Hop Breeding Company, which is a joint venture between John I. Haas and Yakima Chief Ranches. Experimental HBC 471 hops create flavors of oak, bourbon barrels, coconut and vanilla adding rich complexity to darker ales and lagers.

Undated can; drank 10/11/23 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque brown/black appearance.

An even pour yielded a big, noisy tan head; a thick curtain of lacing remained.

Fresh earth, dark chocolate & a hint of citrus notes in the nose.

Creamy medium thick mouthfeel.

Fresh earth & dark roast coffee bean flavors up front; mild cream & faint orange citrus notes on the finish.

Big, sturdy porter vibes. It works.
