Pours a reddish copper color with honey edges and a half finger of head. The nose has subtle whafts of smoke accompanied by some bready qualities. The flavor is certainly malt forward, but not as deeply malty as one might expect from such a high abv offering. The finish is much more dry and woody than malty sweet.

On tap at the source.
A - Dark garnet / mahogany color with thin lacing, carbonation is low.
S - Nice sweet toasted toffee aroma with a little bit of breadiness.
T - Bready toasted caramel / toffee with some breadcrust, and very light delicate smokiness on the backside after the sip. Finishes on the sweeter side (as it should). There's a little bit of booziness but overall, not much heat going down (if at all).
M - Big, thick, viscous and leaves a light sugary residue on the lips.
O - Nicely done and enjoying this one.
