330ml bottle from Brauhaus Lemke am Alex, Berlin (€2.18):
Definitely a sweeter beer than expected without being sickening, the beer was also more fruity and floral than anticipated but the balance was good and prevented any one flavour overpowering. I particularly enjoyed the berries and lighter summer fruits that came through in the early going which were unexpected but seemed to work well with the darker malts and caramel. It was quite an easy going and drinkable beer with enough difference between it and a standard Vienna lager to keep things interesting throughout, as well as making it one that I wouldn't mind having again.

Drank twice during Feb 2013 in the Dickenstr/rail arches outlet while in Berlin.

Impressed, a deep reddy brown body with a full and lasting white head of foam.

Malts foremost in the aroma and taste: fairly sweet, caramel and molasses rule here.

Body depth was fine: could have been thicker and 'meatier' I suppose, but this is a lager/pilsner based beer and that should be remembered when comparing and rating/reviewing beers.

By far the best of the four brews on offer during my visits: I do have a sweet tooth though, so this suited my tastes nicely.

The beer has a deep copper colour with beige foam, fine, average compact but not too persistent.
The smell is somewhat slight, with hints of caramel and malt more generally. Lacks a little bit of personality for a dunkel.
In the mouth you can feel also a malty flavour and a little of sweet caramel. Always soft and balanced, but without black marks.
Should be the basis beer of the brewery, so in the end is enough "easy" and drinkable, even if, in our opinion, lacking in personality and strength.
