Pours black with a dense cap of brown foam. Smells like chocolate fudge and dark fruits. The flavor is similar. The dark fruits are most prominent followed by cocoa and fudge. The barrel definitely lends its presence. The 10% abv is pretty well hidden. The mouthfeel is rich and medium bodied.
The underlying stout here is a touch boring. The overall beer is better but is still underwhelming.
