Draft at the brewery
bright reddish to copper color, mostly clear, light fizzy head
Nose rich grainy malt, toasted grain, cereal, biscuity, bright toast and bread crust, very light hop
Taste more toasted malt, biscuity, bread crust, touch of chocolate pastry, hops bring light bitterness and little herbal hop flavor, soft dry finish
Mouth is med bod, soft lager, higher frothy carb

Clear brown color with a small white head. Good retention.
Smells like caramel, toffee, butterscotch, pumpernickel bread, rye bread.
Tastes like toasted pumpernickel bread, caramel, and toffee. Sweet but not cloying. Underpinnings of raisin, prune, and light hay and clove. Dries out a bit near the finish, crisp and clean.
Medium-light feel, well carbonated, slick with sugars but not unpleasant. Crisps out near the finish.
A solid Vienna lager. Sweet but tasty. Great malt body.

Pours perfectly orange and clear. Tan head of creamy foam. Nose is breaddy with toasty melanoidins and a touch of earthy floral. A hint of sweetness on top. Excellent. Substantial malt with a crisp finish and moderate bitter. Toasty malt but no caramel. Drying int he finish. Clean and smooth. Excellent example of the style and a pleasant surprise.

12/19...pours amber medium with just a smidge of white foam on top. Light caramel nose, vanillas, colas. Smooth taste, clean caramel, light sweetness backed by a toffee bitter bite. Small. Just a little bit of carbonation. Simple, but hits the style nicely.
