Poured from a bottle into a pint glass, and got a lot of head. Poured a dark golden color. Fairly malty scent, but some hops are noted. Taste is good for a pale ale, has some malt taste with a quite hoppy finish. Pretty light mouthfeel, and leaves the tastebuds with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

coopery and a little hazy with a thin white head.
the aroma is mostly a sweet hoppy smell, containing grapefruity lemony hops and some caramel.
surprisinly bitter with some sweet vaguely fruity english pale ale caramel flavors, that *almost* lean in a peaty direction. hops consist of grapefruit, but also some rather out of place lemon. finishes quite bitter for a pale ale. it's got a unique flavor.
light medium body, with moderate carbonation.
decent drinkability for the oddball of an APA. worth a try if you see it.

12oz bottle obtained via trade with Shippos. Thanks for the opportunity...

Poured in an imperial pint glass, forms a 1 1/2" creamy, slightly off-white head, which laces foamily (if that's a word). A translucent warm honey/light amber hued brew, with a prevailing aroma of piney hops. Taste is stongly hoppy, more bitter than I expected, but a slight undercurrent of pale malts helps things balance. Mouthfeel and drinkabilty are both okay, but something about the way the bitterness feels doesn't work so well with me. But I bet after the first one my palate would be have the edges rounded a bit, and all would be well.

The beer pours a nice golden color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a mild pale malt scent along with a wonderful citrous hop aroma. The taste is decent. It has a light feel, but is dominated with the presence of citrous hops. It goes down easy and finishes very bitter. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. This is a decent pale ale. The taste is the only problem. It is too bitter for a pale ale.

12oz. bottle: This one poured a golden color. It was just a touch hazy. Not much of a head to it. The aroma is a bit grapefruity. A fairly good bit of bitterness to the taste. Some maltiness to the body. The bitter taste lingers wit you awhile. Somewhat dry also. A fairly decent APA!

Poured a very pale orange color, showing a sturdy foam head one finger thick. Left behind were thick bands of stain wrapping all the way around the glass.

Smelled of sweet grapefruit, pine, with impish florals swirling through. A real quaffer. Taste was of northwest hops through and through (noted on the bottle as chinook and cascade) - tasty grapefruit and full-bodied bitterness that was both grainy and floral. Had a very nice shot of malt underneath, balanced the hops without competing with them. Simple, textbook, yet effective pale ale with a classic pale ale bitter finish: slightly grainy and well-hewn. Gave me a big tasty burp more extreme than the beer. Good mouthfeel aided the drinkability of this one.

An above average pale ale that quickly gets to the point.

I had the same problem as Shiloh; absurdly huge head and way too much carbonation. I guess this could be considered a gusher but it doesn't taste or smell infected. In fact, it tastes and smells good; there's just way too much air in the beer, even after a huge amount of the gas was dispensed by a head that resembled a hot air balloon with a tiny passenger basket of beer dangling underneath. All that aside, going by pure flavor alone this is better than the other Wagner beers I've tried. The malts are noticeably paler, less sweet and sugary, and the hops are big, alive, and in control. I like the beer. Wagner is new to bottling so by the time you read this, they may have worked the kinks out. Take a shot, buy one. I'll buy some more and re-review.

Appearance...arrives with this monster head, nothing I could do to prevent it...slowly disapates to reveal this giant white turd floating in my beer...really.
The taste however is very pleasant in a hoppy sort of way, which just happens to be my way as well.
Mild lingering bitterness on a medium body with a light golden hue and mildly murky.
Recomended but beware "The Giant Head"

Wagner, a little brewerey/winery offers a number of quality beers. This one's a refreshing, very hoppy pale ale. The first noticable quality on opening the bottle is a whoosh of Cascade aromas. Pours clear and very effervescent. Shallow head doesn't last long. Aroma is all hops, and it isn't very well balanced. Still, the smell and taste are fresh and crisp. Pleasing bitterness and a sharp aftertaste. Could be better with a more rounded malt profile, but very drinkable and quite enjoyable.

A new favorite of mine. Medium gold/copper color, light/medium body. Aroma is bursting with juicy Chinook and Cascade hops and a light breadiness. As I draw my pint nearer it's like putting my nose in a pouch of fresh whole leaf hops. This is one of those great session brews that go down so effortlessly, that you hardly realize you've polished off the sixer. A great summertime or anytime beer.
