Hazy brownish gold. Pinky finger worth of head
Smell - maple Carmel and slightly boozy.
Taste. Both doppelbock and bourbon shine. Front of tongue is engaged in the sweet malty notes of the doppelbock. The back on the tongue gets the bourbon and chocolate note. Great stuff.
Mouthfeel - smooth and not very carbonated. Expected from barrel-aged beers, though more carbonation and lighter mouthfeel would have been appreciated. Moderately full.
Overall - Fantastic first entree into barrel aging. Would be interested into having their triplebock aged also.
