simple but well made, tasty and light, crystal clear pale golden colored with a rising inch plus of fizzy white head, looks great in the glass and smells traditional but fresher than the imports, really exactly right for what it is, a little doughy on the yeast side, crackery and crisp but earthy on the grain front, and lightly hopped with some fresh noble goodness, short of spicy but not bland either. the flavor is right there too, all the elements can be appreciated and everything is in balance. perhaps most importantly this seems patiently and professionally lagered, its snappy and dry and light, but the yeast isnt at all flavorless, which i dig. the body is very minimal, but there is a ton of carbonation here so this drinks light and refreshing with just a little bitterness on the swallow. its maybe not good enough to be a wow beer, but its also pretty much devoid of any evident flaws and was quite a solid first impression of this cool little spot for me, very well executed and ahead of the curve overall.
