Dark yet clear body; fairly thin head. Nice, spicy west coast-style IPA smell. Classic west coast IPA taste with just the right touch of dark roasted grain presence; nice, rounded hop bitterness. Medium body.
This is a fine example of a relatively rare variation of an American IPA. It leaves no doubt that it is inspired by the west coast IPA genre yet also has enough dark/black malt presence to add some fine depth to the beer.
