Brilliantly clear body; coarse yet lively carbonation; thick, creamy, white head, sticky; specks and spidery fingers of foam streak the glass. Gorgeous toasted grain nose; wheat; cracker. Clean, malty taste; sublime hop bitterness counterpoint; wheat cracker. Light body; crisp; delicate dryness.
What an amazing take on the traditional kölsch style. It emphasizes my personal preference for a noticeable wheat-like grain backbone yet also highlights a rather bold yet balanced hop bitterness to the mix. There is a bit of mineral-like note to the overall flavor, even a bit of Nelson Sauvin action could be perceived, yet the grain and hop bitterness character is the overarching picture of this beer. Clean, simple, low-ABV, and very tasty.
Pouring temperature: 41 °F; canning data: 16oz crowler canned at the brewery July 21st, 2022
