22oz bottle picked up at Ben's Bottle Shop in Vancouver, WA; First experience with Funky Hop; bottled 3-9-21; 'A scottish ale w/ a tropical twist: coconut flakes soaked in coconut rum'; so interesting, I couldn't pass it up!
Vessel: Bissell Brothers chalice
p- pours a chestnut color; no head to speak of, surprisingly; a bit lackluster - 3.5
n- medium; pleasant sweet toasted malt carries rum and coconut notes; inviting - 4
t- follows nose; starts subtle but gets bolder as warms; pleasant; toasted malt meets plums, smooth coconut, and rum; definitely getting a tropical vibe; some general nuttiness as well- 4
mf- medium-bodied but thin and watery at times; very light carb; this part needs some work, imo - 3.5
o- needs a little work in the mf dept, but a nice offering nonetheless; I dig it; unique and easy drinking for 8.2% - 3.75
