Hand-picked Schaerbeek cherries are picked every year and brought in from the farm and surrounding area. These ferment and mature on young lambic for 6 months. The different barrels are blended before bottling.

750 mL bottle. Deep red. Smells green with earthy cherry and a little bit of nuttiness and pie spice. Tastes pretty sour, but never builds. Lemon sourness. Cherry pie and spice behind it. Lightly woody in the back. Medium body, but sourness is strong. Good.

A 750ml corked and caged bottle, bottled on 16th January 2021, with a best before date of 9th November 2041. Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass.
Appearance: A slightly hazy but very nice deep ruby red colour with a one finger pink head that dissipated fairly quickly, but left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Intense cherry, cherry skin, cherry pit, almond, marzipan, with light leather notes and hints of tartness.
Taste: Sour, tart, cherry, lemon juice, almond, marzipan, leather, with notes of oak, cherry skin and cherry stone.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation with some acidic sharpness.
Overall: First try of this new blendery that started its project in 2020, and it was good. It’s popping ruby red colour and aroma was great and the flavours were intense, although I would have preferred less lemon and a slightly toned down sharpness. But still, very enjoyable and can’t wait to try the other products in their lineup.

Deep saturated crimson, thin layer of lasting pinkish foam, spotty lacing around the edges.
Aroma is deep and saturated with the richness of the Schaerbeek cherries. Super intense, almost vinous. Dark sour cherry flesh, skins, pits, and stems lend a very rustic tone to the aroma and taste. Lip smacking and savory, the acid is persistent and winds it's way around the deep intensity of the cherries. Rich black cherry, traces of almond and cinnamon, dry oak, and lemony acid. Medium bodied with a supple texture, soft carbonation carries it along but allows the fruit to give it a vinous red wine feel. One of the purest expressions of Schaerbeek cherries i've had to date. Overall it's just about perfect, and extremely enjoyable to the last drop. Impressive that first-time blender Senne Eylenbosch has blended an Oude Scharbeekse Kriek this outstanding. He spent time at Drie Fonteinen previously, so that could be one secret to success.
This was my first lambic from Het Boerenerf Eylenbosch, and i'm anticipating more great things from them in the future. Senne Eylenbosch is a new blender who previously worked at Drie Fonteinen before starting his blendery. Eylenbosch honors the historic traditions of his family's farm in Huizingen, where lambic was once brewed for over a century until 1965. Het Boerenerf Eylenbosch is a modern revival with a strong resonance of the past, at the beginning of an exciting new chapter of their bright future.
Note: first batch was bottled 2021 and produced with 3F lambic. Thanks to Mark for sharing this one!
For the 2022 harvest, it was relabeled and renamed as "Terroir Boerenerf - Scharbeekse Kriek (Oogst 2022)".
