BeerAdvocate from Massachusetts
4.5/5 rDev +12.2%
look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5
From BeerAdvocate Magazine Volume II, Issue I:
Rich clear-golden topped with a creamy white lacing. Aroma suggests sweetness, fresh baked grains, earth, and soft floral and herbal notes that's very pleasing to the nose, with a melanoidin base. Nice firm consistency on the palate. Medium-bodied and smooth. Lots of bready notes, a touch of caramel and faint tangy, raw honey. Bitterness brings a sharpish lemony edge that's well placed and oily. Grassiness comes twofold from the malt and sticky herbal hops, more of a fresh cut grass than hay. Semi-dry finish.
All in all, very flavorful, not dark or light as many of this style are, but right in the middle with both color and flavor, which makes it very traditional perhaps, but certainly unique in a modern sense.

look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 4.5
Poured a clear golden with a 2-finger fluffy white head. Decent retention. OK lacing. Lots of tiny carbonation rising.
Aroma of malts, some hops and rather grainy.
Taste is clean and crisp. Sweet malts with some light hops. Somewhat bready.
Mouthfeel is slightly dry at the end with a light body.
Overall, very drinkable. Sessionable. Goes down very easy. Good with food.
