From a can, poured in a glass.
A very dark brown beer, almost black. The dark tan head dissipates quickly, lacing is minimal.
The nose picks up a roasted and bitter aroma.
Taste is enjoyably bitter-sweet, dominant are the roasted grain and cocoa flavors with a hint of lingering sweetness that yields to the bitterness.
Almost reminiscent of a dry stout.

Pours a deep dark mahogany with a caramel colored head that has good retention.
Coffee, chocolate and a slight hint of raspberry in the nose.
Taste follows nose with a nice, dry, bitter finish.

Solid Black appearance, loose fast fleeting tan head, lingering collar, no lacing. Roasty malt backbone, mild coffee, dry, light mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Easy drinking.

Solid black body under a huge tan head with good lacing. Woodsy, roasted malt aroma dotted with notes of coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Earthy, roasted grain taste, still displaying the coffee and chocolate traits that the nose picked up. Hops do not seem to be a factor. Smooth, lightly charred , medium-to-full bodied mouthfeel.

How am I the first person to review this brew? I picked up a 16 oz can in a beer store in Pennsylvania and brought the can back with me to CT. Its been in my cellar for about a month.
Pouring into a snifter at cellar temp. Date stamp on can is in reverse but says 1/14/21.
Beer pops with a LOUD hiss and I pour gently into my snifter. Still get overwhelming fluffy foam from the pour resulting in 30% liquid and the rest foam in my snifter, which has a 22oz capacity....so yea...foam
The foam settles to a 1 cm fluffy surface layer and remains there through sampling.
Beer pours a cola brown color.
Aroma is roasted malt and some light bakers chocolate note and some faint coffee. A little grassy hop scent too.
First sip reveals a medium body and tingly carbonation. Easy drinking physical traits.
Flavor is roasted notes and coffee ground and again bakers chocolate. Slight bitterness, but I attribute it to dark malts and not hops. there is a bit of grassy character on the finish, but the lingering roast notes covers it up quickly. No hint of ABV. This is a smooth easy drinker that had me concerned with the fluffy pour, but it turned out to be A OK.
