Served in a flared pokal.

Another wit today. I'm on a roll here. This one pours a cloudy pale straw topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises lemon peel, light mandarin orange, coriander, light grass, and a touch of flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some orange zest, some extra lemon zest and coriander, and a pinch of cardamom. There's quite a bit of citrus here, baby, but it's not o'erwhelming in the slightest. The body is fairly light, with a light moderate carbonation, a wet feel, and a slightly dry finish. Overall, a nice wit. 'Nuff said, really.

On tap as of June 29, 2011.

A - Poured a cloudy, golden yellow color with a one-finger, white head of foam.

S - Aroma had a strong lemon presence with some citrus and wheat.

T - Tasted great! Some fruity notes of the Belgian yeast with some apple flavors. Also, the lemon and wheat that come with witbiers.

M - It was crisp, sharp and crackled on the tongue. A light to medium bodied ale with a snappy, dry finish.

O - This is a really tasty witbier. I was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful it was.

My impression of this brew may be clouded by the Dark Star Imperial Stout and IPA I had before it, but I haven't seen anything like this (okay, I'm not a Belgian expert). A fine lacy head fails to cover an opaque, whitish-yellow beer. Strong weissbeer taste of coriander, orange peel and berries. Sugary Belgian finish aided by traditional slice of lemon. For some reason, I almost get a whiff of... sweat. Maybe it's just me after hoisting a few.
