(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer has an opaque brown body with a red hue where the light hits the bottom of the glass. There is a head made up of large bubbles and some creamy tan foam, which fades to a thick ring soon after it is parked on the bar. There is a very strong carbonation that can be seen at the edges of the glass.
S- This beer has the smell of dark caramel malt with a dry hint of band-aid in the background. The band-aid smell has a slight salty smoke hint to it.
T- The first few sips is nothing but big peat smoke that reminds me of nothing but band-aids. After that subsides there is some nice notes of dark caramel, nougat and pot caramel in the background. There is a light alder smoke that is pleasant with hints of dark malt and caramel with a note of brown malt. The soft note of bourbon hangs in the finish of this beer.
M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a fizz finish that balances the malt flavors nicely.
D- This beer is way overpowered by the band-aid flavor which is very unfortunate because there are some nice flavors hidden underneath. It was hard to finish the glass but I couldn't waste the beer.
