(Served in a snifter)
A- This beer poured a jet black body with a thin ring of tan foam that slide down the side after each sip.
S- The gentle but rich chocolate malt had a softer bourbon hint with some nice dark toffee notes in the finish.
T- The chocolate malt richness had some graham and caramel notes that came through when it warmed followed by some mellow bourbon hints. The finish had a nice malty sweetness followed by a green woody note that lingered together for a moment.
M- The medium mouthfeel had a nice alcohol warmth that complimented the malt sweetness.
O- The age of the dark matter stout has really cut down the anise flavor and malt flavors really blend well with the barrel support. I’m surprised that such a base beer can really improve that much in the barrel but this was pretty tasty.

Poured at FOBAB...
They must have brewed a better batch then those other reviews :)
Pours a dark dark brown. Nice thick almost oily appearance. Some nice light tan head. Smells like an anise BOMB. Very enjoyable licorice aroma that comes across on the taste as well. Thick and sweet. Well carbonated. Very interesting and tasty :)
