Collaboration with DryHop Brewers
Smoking Nanners is a result of Flossmoor Head Brewer Bjorn Johnson and Greg’s time together in Munich for brew school.
Together, they traveled to different regions of Germany, and a memorable stop was in Bamberg, where smoked beers are considered a specialty of the area. Smoking Nanners was brewed in tribute to Bjorn and Greg’s antics experienced there.

Appearance: Cloudy golden color with a pale head and nice carbonation. Nice lacing but little head retention.
Smell: Excellent. Bananas and apples up front with a hint of smokiness following. Huge aroma from this beer.
Taste: Much like the aroma, a huge hit of banana. Yeasty and fruity. I do wish there was more smoke in the flavor though. Hard to detect.
Mouthfeel: Lightly carbonated and not over aggressive. Refreshing, but without becoming thin or watery. On the lighter side though, as it should be for this style.
Overall: A great representation of the style and refreshing. Great session beer. Yeasty and fruity. The name says it all. There's a lot of banana in this one. Just wish there was a touch more smoke.
