Visited on 6-26-21 with Da Boss after spending time at the nearby Pearson Falls for lunch and a couple of pints.
Vibe was very unique and very chill. Indoor space was comfortable with a bar and adequate seating. We sat outdoors on the "patio" which overlooked the whole former prison. Oddly different but very comfortable and spacious.
Quality of the beers were solid. Nice old school lineup of eight basic beers plus one hazy. I think there were a couple of ciders as well as wine available. Nothing wild and crazy here.
Service was very kind and knowledgeable about the beer.
Selection was pretty limited to the basic styles which is perfect for a lunch outing.
Food was mediocre at best. Da Boss had the Cuban sandwich that she rated as okay. My chicken sandwich on a bun was pretty blah. Onion rings were more onion than batter which was a nice change.
Overall if you find your self in Polk County North Carolina i recommend a visit for the unique setting and solid traditional brews!
