Smell : vanilla aroma
Taste : bitter taste with grass, malt and coriander

Drinkability : not a bad German syle pils but better in can

I got this bottle and the official Beck (not beck's) .5 litter glass from the great BA ungespundent. Bottle has an expiration date of 04/19/08 and was brought back from Bavaria by me. Bottle also lists the ABV at 5% not 4.9 but who’s counting.
Pours like most German lagers beautiful clear yellow with a big fluffy white head. After spending some time in Germany I have learned to really appreciate noble hops and their aromas. Beck pils definitely has a spicy hop bite to it. It starts out with a hop flavor and is immediately followed by a malty punch. The beer then starts to bitter but quickly dries. Very easy drinking beer that is well balanced and enjoyable. Unfortunately I have only one so my Beck Brau mug will have to hold other beers until I make it back to Deutschland.
