Big House Brewpub

Last stop of the day in Walla Walla, located close to our hotel. Overall, this a sports pub, lots of TVs all over the palce. There is a large patio available, but I couldn't see if there were TVs out there also. Kitchen closes an hour before closing time, so be prepared. Almost zero late night food options in town. Beers were average, the black IPA come off more as a schwarzbier, IPAs decent. Service was also average.

i had a good time in here, pretty classic brewpub spot, right downtown, lots of neat little beer stops in town if you poke around a bit. i can tell this place pops in the summer, enormous patio right in the heart of things, gorgeous out there, but it appeared shut down for the season when i visited. the inside seems newly renovated, its clean and bright and modern looking, full bar, sports on tv, quiet late on a week night when i was in, friendly service and all, but she wasnt a beer person and didnt enhance the experience at all. they had a modest selection, i liked the oktoberfest better than the wet hop, but they had a doppelbock they did with quirk across town that was my favorite of the lot. had some kind of chicken wrap out of the kitchen that was above average, the menu looked solid beyond that as well. i see this as the kind of place to go watch a football game on a weekend morning, come in hot with a bloody mary and a brew, eat apps all day, that kind of thing, or as a happy hour spot on the patio during the summer, it felt a little quiet and kind of lazy in here while i was there, but its the off season now for walla walla i would imagine. kind folks, solid beers, tasty grub, an enjoyable visit.

edit: improving the service score after my most recent visit, incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuine, a big step up from what i had last time. this is a great little spot for a nightcap and a bite.
