$ 2.50 (Including tax)/500 mL can ($0.148/oz) from Costco, Schertz, TX. Part of the Costco 2019 Advent Calendar. Reviewed 11/18/19.
Can dated “EXP 05/2021”. Stored on the shelf at the store, stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 50 degrees in a hand washed and dried 0.5L pilsener glass
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Light amber, clear.
Body – Brown with reddish highlights, clear.
Head – Large (Maximum 14 cm, stabilizing at six cm, aggressive center pour), light tan, high density, good retention, diminishing to a ten mm crown and a complete cap. Some three-dimensional chunks of lacing remain as the head retracts.
Lacing – Good. Complete rings of tiny to small bubbles, with multiple small stalactites. See also above.
Aroma – 4 – Strong malt.
Flavor – 4 – Begins and ends slightly sweet and malty, but not roasted or toasted. There is a touch of bitterness on the aftertaste. Neither caramel nor chocolate. No alcohol (5.2 % ABV as marked on the can) flavor or aroma, no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, almost creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 A very tasty and “to style” Munchner dunkel. If I ever actually saw this beer for sale, I’d buy a case! So far, the best from the Costco box (19 down, five to go).

Advent Day 5. 500 ml can poured into a pint glass. Dark brown/black with red highlights , a one finger light tan head that dissipates slowly. Good lace retention on the side of the glass. The aroma is malts and that sugary dark fruit smell dunkels are known for. The taste has some metallic notes that go away as it warms, in addition to the sugary malts flavors. Maple, nuts, slightly bitter finish. The carbonation is medium to medium low, the feel is somewhat heavy but not overbearing. Overall, a decent dunkel worth a go.

From Costco. 50cl can. In Bavaria hefe glass. Playing Bioshock. Typical profile of a dunkel, with molasses flavors, mixed with some mineral/metallic notes, specially in nose, that however dont ruin it

Served in a pint glass from the can.
Appearance: Comes off a very dark amber with medium bubbles to the body. Off-white head rising maybe rising just about a one finger's length.
Smell: Lemon and hops, little light and lacking the potency I look for.
Taste: Sweet and bitter malt. Smooth lemon and light hints of maple and nuts. Like a brown ale but a nudge sweeter.
Mouth: lightly sticky, has a sour dough bread finish but overly done.
Overall: Came with a variety pack and definitely delivered. Wouldnt hunt the world for it but if you see it, pour it in glass especially on a hot summer night. Salud!

Pretty consistent rating for this beer. Dark red, almost brown beer with a decent head that dissipated slowly with noticeable lacing. Good aroma, strong malt tone, pleasant. Smooth taste with good chocolaty flavor and no irritating aftertaste that detracts from the beer. Flavor well complemented by the feel. Decent beer.

From the can, it pours a dark, clear, ruby brown with a modest head. The head quickly reduces to a ring. Some caramel malt in the nose. The taste is slightly sweetish, caramel with slight bitterness. Enjoyable.
