Can from Jeremy. Medium golden with orange tones. Grainy, malt aroma. taste brings some adjunct grains , vegetal flavors. Taste is more of the same, oily and slick. Gets a bit gamely at the end.

$ 2.50 (Including tax)/500 mL can ($0.148/oz) from Costco, Schertz, TX. Part of the Costco 2019 Advent Calendar. Reviewed 11/11/19.
Can dated “EXP 05/2021”. Stored on the shelf at the store, stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 55 degrees in a hand washed and dried chalice/goblet.
Appearance – 3.25.
First pour – Light amber, clear.
Body – Medium amber.
Head – Large (Maximum 6.5 cm, aggressive center pour), off white, medium density, poor retention, rapidly diminishing to a three mm crown and partial cap, few by thin effervescence.
Lacing – Poor. Just a few tiny islands of tinier bubbles.
Aroma – 3.25 – Fruity malt, no hops.
Flavor – 3 – Begins quite bitter and malty with no hop flavor. Ends less bitter and slightly medicinal and metallic. No alcohol (6.5 % ABV as marked on the can) flavor or aroma, no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3.25 – Medium, watery, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3, and that’s being generous. The appearance, nose, and palate are average but acceptable. The flavor is plain nasty.

Appearance: Hazy golden-orange in color, with a tall, white cloudtop head, which retains well. There are abundant streams of carbonation; profuse clumps of fat bubbles cling to the glass walls. Intricate, Belgian-style lacing clings to the glass walls.
Aroma: Very sweet aroma of caramel-drizzled, slightly rustic white bread, and faint, faint herbal hops. Some sweet alcohol manages to peak through, as this example is 6.5% ABV, quite high among its peers in the Costco Beer Advent calendar.
Taste: The taste opens with sweet caramel malt, suffused with moderate herbal hops. A little later in the taste, brown sugar notes present. The taste is actually quite balanced, the hops offsetting the sweetness of the malt and the spicy and sweet alcohol. Some mild white pepper notes appear late in the taste. The finish is mildly sweet.
Mouth feel: Very full and soft, quite pleasant, with just a hint of carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: I have to say this is one of the best examples from the Costco Beer Advent Calendar. It is not world class, by any means, but it stands out among its mediocre peers.
Presentation: Packaged in a 500 ml, 16.9 ounce steel can, served in a South American-style Pilsener glass. Beer number twenty-four (December 24th) from the 2017 Costco Advent Beer Calendar.

I've been giving these Egerer Costco Beer Advent Calendar (2019) beers full attention and thorough reviews, but the first 20+ weren't promising enough to warrant continuing the trend. I've learned to expect this will be in the same "D" to "C" letter grade range as most of the beers in the pack, but I'm hopeful it'll make me stop in my tracks and commit to a full review because it's so good...
No style indicated on the generic German label.
Nah, not worthy of much comment. Generic malt sweetness, finishes dry, there's not much to it...painfully simplistic and shallow. Very dull fare with no recognizable style.
D+ (2.32) / NOT RECOMMENDED

The Patron Saint of Brewers! Brewed in Bayern. How could you go wrong. Well, it could be slightly can-bound, like all the others from this Costco beer advent calendar set.
It pours a rich golden color with good steady fizz. The aroma is a nice malty smell. just a tad of hops and boozy too. The same goes for the taste and mouthfeel - malty and just a tad boozy. It's right in there with others of the style. Typical of German beers, it tastes consistent.
Recommended. If you have a calendar to drink, keep this one for yourself! It is one of the hightlights of the pack.

From the can, it pours a off-golden color with a nice, long lasting head. It lasts a nice long time. Malt in the nose. The same for the mouth. Not bad!

Can. From Costco. In Bavaria hefe glass. At lunch, with rice soup + bratwurst. Sweetly alcoholic, almost cloying, like an euro strong lager but with maybe a bit more malt presence

I'm new to rating so please be patient with me.
This is the best of the lot of the Advent Beer Calendar: very tasty; little on the sweet side but not overly so.
Very smooth beer as well, especially for being a bit stronger than the average.
I'm a beginner at rating so its hard to use objective terms as some reviews show. But this has been my favorite from the beer calendar and I signed up to review since I regular check the reviews for the Calendar and I was surprised by the lack of reviews. I wish I could buy a case of it in US!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
