Dark brown in color with excellent clarity. There’s a fingernail of brown on top. The aroma is of smoked malt. I’m tasting heavily smoked malt. The mouth is light and easygoing.

I got a can of this beer from the Costco Beer advent calendar as the December 19th offering. It poured a hazy opaque dark amber with thin white ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had smokiness notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with smoke, tobacco and peat. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Picked up as part of the Advent 24-pack from the Greenville, SC Costco on 10-9-21 for $59.99. Expires 2023/05; consumed 11-15-21.
Beer poured brown with a very nice off white head that has some nice hang time.
Nose has a modest amount of Bamberg smoked malts.
Taste is a nice light malt base with a nice complement of smoked malts. Finishes nicely balanced.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and refreshing.
Overall a very nice version of a Rauchbier!

You will find this beer under Zwönitzer Rauchbier as well. From the Costo Advent Beer Calender.
I really liked it because the smoke flavor is more subtle and not so overpowering. If you like smoke beer, give this a try!
