A: Pours a brilliantly clear golden color. A two finger white head forms with good retention and lace left behind.
S: Zesty, spicy lemon grass up front. With a bit of pale, cracker like malts. Simple and too the point, which I enjoy.
T: Again, up front with that zesty spicy lemon grass hoppy character. Cracker malts, a bit of minerality. For as hoppy as it is up front, the bitterness just kind of ends. I would have liked that to linger a bit more.
M/O: A light body, crisp carbonation. Finishes clean and dry. Very easy to drink and come back to.
I can't say this is among my favorite Pilsner's, either import or otherwise. For the price its not bad, but it also basically the same price point as something like Paulaner Pils, at least for me locally, Which I would grab that more often than this. Still, nothing wrong with it, if a bit standard.

This is one of the better German Pilsners I can actually find locally. The mouthfeel is light - but present. The carbonation is on par for the style. The malt is not overly sweet or musky - it is clean and fresh - not heavy but also not drowned out by the hops. It's slightly bready - but in a good way. The color is richer than you might expect - but I count that to it's credit. The head sticks with the glass on the way down. I keep coming back to this one - it's a keeper. The only room for improvement is that the nose could be more on the "fresh hops" side - but it's not at all objectionable.

Wow I never reviewed this before. Strangeley it tends to be much less available in most of Europe in comparison to other German pilsners like Krombacher, Radeberger, Becks, Konig and Warsteiner etc.
Beautiful colour and smooth head. Froth sticks to the side of the glass. Musky malty aroma more prominent than the hops.
Quite a distinct flavour. Honey comes through strongly and the hops add a sharp bitterness without fruitiness or aromatics. Easy to drink fast and quite an addictive flavour. Kind of simple but an amazing contrast between the honey and distinct bitterness. Balanced and crisp mouth feel.
Definitely an impressive German pilsner, though I prefer Radeberger for sure, and Konig and a few others with a bit more hops complexity.

Found myself really digging German Pilsners as of late and doing my best to incorporate as many as I can in my rotation. Bitburger is undoubtably one of the standouts for me in this category. An easy drinker with some bitterness and hoppy vibes.

Presentation: 11.2 ounce bottle poured into a Pilsner glass.
Look: deep golden color. Good size head. Good amount of lacing.
Smell: rich flowery hops aroma. Sweet honey aroma. Faint malty aroma.
Taste: crisp hops flavor initially, followed by a sweet honey flavor, and a bit of a malty flavor. The aftertaste is somewhat bitter but it’s not off putting.
Feel: smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation.
Overall: this is a good German Pilsner. The combination flavors really work well together in my opinion. It has a good blend of drinkability and bold flavors. It’s got a bit more bitterness than you would expect, but it’s not unpleasant. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy this style of beer.
