From the stubbi bottle (as the company says), it pours a clear golden amber color with a large off-white head that slowly reduces. Lacing. The nose gets some fruitiness as well as the expected malt. The mouth gets very smooth feeling, slightly fruity malty brew. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

Copenhagen 12/4 2023. 33 cl small chubby bottle from Rewe, Flenburger Markt, Flensburg. Dark grey label with a black Ram staring at me.

Pours slightly unclear, golden yellow with mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin but unbroken layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor sporting a sharp edge of alcohol. Sweet pale malts, bread, grains, metallic alcohol.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong malty sweetness followed by a moderately strong sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a searing, boozy undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweet and metallic.

Malty and boozy Maibock.

On tap at Brauhaus Schmitz in Philadelphia, PA.

This one pours a darkish golden brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells slightly banana-y, with dark breadiness, and clove.

This is really solid, with a nicely bready and yeasty feel to it. There’s banana, floral hops, clove, light spice, and a dense maltiness that works really well.

This is lighter bodied, but slightly creamy, and really drinkable.

I really enjoy Bitburger, and am usually happy to try anything new from them, to me.

A: dark yellow amber color with a bit of chill haze. 2 finger frothy white head

S: grains and fruit bread. Earthy hops and some light citrus notes

T: rich malts and fruit bread. Sweet grains and a quick pinch of herbal hops that fades back to some rich malt sweetness. Faint clove and cardamom with ripe a very mellow banana kiss

M: medium, almost chewy mouthfeel. Low moderate carbonation. Great mouthfeel for the style

O: awesome stuff. Hits all the bock notes but has a nice pop that gives it that bit extra

Pours a clear, deep golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of doughy, caramel malt and herbal, spicy and slightly fruity and resinous hops, with notes of citrus and pine coming through. Taste is a great balance of doughy, caramel malt and fruity, herbal, slightly floral, spicy and resinous hops, with citrus, berry and lighter stone fruit notes of orange peel, blackberry and apricot, as well as hints of wild honey, peppery spice and pine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some caramel malt, orange peel and just a hint of wild honey lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for a very hoppy Bock that almost feels like more of an Imperial IPL, despite some caramel and honey sweetness, which is balanced by a good bitterness and hints of pine, as well as some rather fruity notes from the Callista hops and herbal, floral and spicy accents from the Siegelhopfen. Overall, this makes for a very well-balanced and somewhat unusual Bockbeer that is quite hoppy, with a good balance of sweet, fruity and bitter, slightly resinous notes.

A friend brought me two Stubbi bottles from Germany.
Golden color with a finger thick head, fair retention.
Aroma has some fruity and honey notes.
Malty sweetness with a subtle bitterness and the unmistakable Siegelhopfen character complimented by the Callista hops.
The 7%ABV are well disguised, drinks easy.
I like it a lot, too bad I can get it around here...

330ml bottle poured into La Chouffe tulip.

A: Golden, slightly hazy, large foamy head which disappeared fairly quickly, left some lacing.

S: Some fruity sharpness, reminiscent of Tettenanger hops.

T: Clove and banana, quite sweet but managed to retain its subtlety.

M: Quite light for the high abv, moderate to low carbonation.

O: Very nice well made Bock, I would definitely recommend it.

The Calista Hops are a genius addition to this.
Pale Bocks can often be plain, sweet and boozy but this has a nice fruity Element added, which takes this up a couple notches.
