Earthy herbal spicy. I keep trying these because everyone raves about them but honestly I just don't get it.

Pours an amber color with hints of golden brown, very little head and no lacing on the glass.
Smell has a strong earthy aroma like it was brewed with dirt and tea, light fruit aroma in the way back of the nose.
Taste follows up on the earthiness with a heavy malt backing and some tea-like flavorings, I can slightly make out the rhubarb but it isn't that strong or overly characteristic, carbonation is very low, almost flat-like, which hurts the overall body of the beer, I'm not sure if that's an issue from the growler fill or if it's naturally low to begin with.
I'm a bit torn on whether or not I actually enjoy the flavors, one minute is palatable, the next it's not, I guess I'm not very experienced when it comes to gruit but I plan on hitting up this place more in the future to try some of their other variations and learning more about gruit.

Interesting brew flavored with grilled rhubarb. This added a bitter and slightly tart characteristic. They are known for their gruits and this did not disappoint. Low level of carbonation, but not flat, medium to full body.
