these guys are still very much in their early stages, but they are starting to get a little beer out, and it was cool to be able to drink one of their early brews. eventually i hope this sort of thing gets a real name, but for now i am just happy it exists. its really ahead of the curve in the style, and while the hop profile isnt particularly unique, the rest of the beer is, and the quality is there, as is the freshness. it hides its alcohol strength real well, holds a high hoppiness through the whole drink without every being bitter, bitey, green, vegetal, or overhopped, and we can appreciate the best of these varietals, mosaic and strata out front, juicy and bright, yellow peach, lemongrass, clementine, nice. the grain base is solid, maybe slightly english and i dont mind the bit of sweetness it has, its balancing and not invasive. the body is creamy and full, but its not heavy to drink, high carbonation helps with that. i get a honey note, partially from grain sweetness partially from a floral side to the hops, and i think it makes this pretty interesting. i also like that i can taste just a little yeast in here, which i dont always love in the style, but it works this time. overall this beer is solid, but more than that it shows promise for this brewery, there is a lot of cool beer in this town and its going to take some well executed good ideas to stand out, this is real encouraging in that direction. hope to check out their place next time i am in town!
