Old lagered beer with malty sweet flavours of caramel, toasted nuts, dark sugar, and chocolate. Complex dark fruit notes of cherry, current, plum and raisin. Full bodied, smooth across the palate with mellow alcohol warmth.

A- Love the aggressive head that forms, being three fingers thick right off the bat, before settling down to a half finger thick layer that retains itself rather well.....dark tan/caramel in color. The brew itself is a medium-dark brown shade, and I would say is somewhat semi clear....I do see a large number of fizzy columns rising rapidly to the top of the glass like racehorses, suggesting a heavily carbonated porter. The lacing is somewhat sticky in nature, showcasing thick clumps of foam that grace the inside of the glass and stay there.....not bad looking overall!
S- I definitely get the chocolate and cherry that Shoreline was going after here....more like a chocolate covered cherry, but without the heavy syrup sweetness....underlying flavors of unsweetened cocoa, sweetened coffee, dark fruits (plum, fig?)....as it warms, the alcohol does show up somewhat, but it isn't offensive by any means. The finish lingers on the palate, with sticky cherry resin, chocolate compote, and an ever so slight dry bitterness.
M/O- Nice medium mouthfeel, even leaning towards full bodied....the carbonation is tight, somewhat aggressive, opposing how the look made me feel about it. The drinkability is rather good in my opinion, especially when it is colder, and would pair well with a heavier meal......think Bangers and Mash kind of thing! I like this and will seek it out again for sure, and recommend anyone who has access give this a try!
