All of the bold roast and dark silky smooth character of our original community stout. Complete with hints of dark chocolate but now with the very complimentary addition of the wild cherries and cherry bitters-

A- Comes pouring out of the can looking thick and creamy, with the coloration being a very dark brown tone, with just a hint of reddish hue showing through when held against a white light. The head isn't anything to write home about....it is maybe a half finger in thickness initially, even with a relatively heavy pour, and settles quickly into a thin film over top of the liquid....it is tan in color. Based on the head, I'm going to say that the carbonation is creamy and fine....the lacing actually holds up around the inside of my glass, which I didn't think would happen based on the head. Overall a fine, if unassuming looking stout.
S- Beautiful aroma! There are heavy scents of freshly ground coffee bean.....and dark roast grind....just the way I love smelling my beans in the morning! Lovely dark and milky chocolate smells, some dry dusty oat flake, and the finish is of hints of bing cherry, however, the fruit is very mellow and if one didn't know it was part of this brew, I would think it could easily be overlooked.
T- The flavors show off somewhat closely to the aforementioned aromas, however, what I find here is that the cherry most definitely comes through, but is certainly not overpowering....just showing off enough to let your palate know that its there....could be the bitters used in the mix. Otherwise, this has classic coffee, chocolate and char flavors that I enjoy in my stouts. The finish is oat flake dry and very slightly bitter....maybe more correctly tart on the finish is the correct description.....very nice overall!
M/O- Creamy mouthfeel, with the body being medium, leaning into full, and the carbonation is silky smooth as well....perfect for my taste! The alcohol is hidden well and I am enjoying the slight tart fruitiness of the cherry in this one....it doesn't come across as a dessert stout, which I think is hard to achieve in this type of style. I recommend this and would love to enjoy it again at some point....on tap would be excellent!
