On 14th Jan 2012 I decided to have a lager/pilsner/helles/light beer evening: a 500ml screw-top bottle of this beer was the third to be opened. The brewery obviously wanted to cover all the bases with this beer: not many Landbier Export Helles all in one bottle that I know of.
Poured into three Pilsner glasses (tulip, stemmed): almost clear body of a dull golden yellow colour, a white crown sat on each glass, looked like any other Helles I’ve had, but duller.
Very little in the nose, grass, mini-floral hop type smells are all I got.
The taste wasn’t overly impressive either: mildly hoppy with a malt content stopping the beer being too dry or bitter from the hops. Mellow rather than crisp, soft rather than tart: it didn’t do enough for me and I thought the whole beer was dull. The alcohol was well hidden but the mouthfeel was on the thin side and overall it just seemed like plenty of other ‘run of the mill’ German brews.

Poured a dense, almost creamy, white head that held strong. Transparent golden beer with a slight haze. Full, lightly sweet, pale malt aroma with a nice floral/herbal hop aroma. Nice mix between hop tea and pale malt sweetness in the flavor. Quite enjoyable. Almost watery mouthfeel with some fine carbonation to keep in interesting. The flavor is just right, and this beer is very drinkable.
