From the bottle, it pours golden amber with a moderate head. Lacing as you enjoy the beer. Malt is evident in the nose. ...and mouth. The alcohol is just evident. Enjoyable.

50cl bottle poured into Paulaner seidel
BBE 21/08/11
A- Deep gold body with excellent clarity. 3 finger head that has good/avg retention and lacing.
S- Resinous pine tree like quality. Hint of DMS/pils malt.
T- Toasty sweeter malts in the beginning with the resinous tree like quality coming through. Pils malts/DMS in there too toward the end. Hint of alcohol in the finish.
M- Moderate carbonation and body. Lager clean finish.
D- Its tasty enough. The resinous quality isnt something ive experienced in a german lager before. Not one id actively seek out. Not sure how id class this one either. If im comparing it to the other strong beer season bock beers id maybe say this one lacks depth of malt but thats probably unfair if thats not the style. If its a strong pils, it maybe lacks the dry puckering hoppy finish. This one confused me!

A strong (7.5% abv) Pilsner style beer brewed using Spalter hops. I picked up this bottle at the beginning of March, which is brewed for Josephi (Feast of St. Joseph) on March 19th.
On to the beer. It poured a short off-white head that faded slowly and left some strings and specs of lace. Transparent beer is light golden in color and shows little life. Aroma is moderately strong and full of spicy/herbal hops with and edge of alcohol. Flavors of lightly sweet pale malt, grass, and flowers up front. The alcohol kicks in midway through and brings in a nice bitter bite with it. Finishes fairly clean with remnants of alcohol and bitterness fading briskly and the only lingering sensation is of numb gums. The body is moderately light and working towards crisp. I would drink a handful of these if there wasn't so much alcohol in it. White it is much bigger then a regular Pilsner it is no where near too big. A well done double Pilsner that has everything in place and working towards a tasty big beer.
