Unexpectedly, this small franconian brewery uses Sinamar to artificially colour this Beer.
A travesty that is for some reason still allowed under the purity law.
The roasted notes are absolutely faint in this.
Don't award this practice with your money.

From the half liter bottle, it pours a slightly hazy and slightly reddish dark brown with a moderate head, fading to a thin layer. Light scent (probably too cold) of caramel malt and hops. Tongue and mouth are massaged by the velvety mouthfeel and enticed by the light flavor of roasted malt. Enjoyable.

A tasty dark quaff.
Tasted from half litre bottle purchased in Nuremburg. Pleasing color in the glass with a little cloud-- label says it's "unfiltriert." More of a dark golden brown than black. Tastes of grain with very modest malt flavors. Refreshing watery taste and light body. Just a hint of burnt malt and caramel. Quite unremarkable, but highly drinkable especially when icy cold.

Poured a tall, creamy, pale brown head that held strong Opaque cola colored beer has a chestnut hue. Faint aroma of spicy hops, caramel, and ashes. Soft, light, fluffy mouthfeel make massages your tongue. Clean flavor is a mix of grassy, almost minty, hops along with malt and tea notes. Finishes with a dark malt flavor that is really dry and astringent. A nice drinkable Schwarzbier.
