Save for the foam head and hazy body, I’m a bit unsure where the here notes come in. Ok, I’ll add a bit of wheat grain in the nose, but that aspect is devoid of any hefe yeast character. Feel and taste are more reminiscent of a pale ale, the latter a bit more so. There’s a little grassy bitterness with flecks of pepper. A surprising beer that, in my opinion style-wise, is “just a bit outside” - to quote Bob Ueker. Overall, it’s an okay beer if you had no such expectations.
