Püls Bräu OHG "Abt Knaller Bock"
,5L brown glass bottle for 3,80€ @ Bamberger WeissbierHaus, Bamberg, DE on 14 September 2017
Notes: Hazy dark amber body beneath a frothy off-white head that holds fairly well before dropping and then leaves some surprisingly nice lacing behind. The aroma displays some light to medium dark caramel malt and a touch of spicy hops. The flavor delivers that light-medium caramel maltiness with a touch of apple-like fruitiness from the yeast, and some spicy and herbal hops. A stiff bitterness balances it and it finishes dry with spicy and herbal hop notes lingering. It's medium leaning towards medium-full in body and gently crisp. Overall it's a touch sweetish but with a clear note of alcoholic strength that helps to balance it, and then a dry, bitter finish.

Pours a dark amber with a nice head that dissipates, leaving lacing behind. Somewhat malty in taste. Extremely drinkable and hard to put down once started (to me).
2024 update: yum!
