- appearance - mahogany color, tiny light than head, more of a ring at the edge of glass. Aroma is of toasty grain with hint of caramel, no hop aroma, almost like a Yeungling lager. Taste is roasty/dark toast, some malty sweetness, light caramel, but dry roasty aftertaste. No perceived hoppy flavor. Body is medium, mouthfeel thin. Low carbonation yet dryness leads to feeling satiated/ or bloated. Overall improves as it warms up. So different from Other wheats like a A hefe Weissen or a wit which are almost silky.

Cloudy reddish brown, next to no head, zero retention or lace for what's there, surprising for a wheat
Smells like chocolate, a little bit of underripe banana
Earthy chocolate and green banana
Medium light bodied, could use more carbonation
Not sure how to score it, because the description makes me think of a dunkelweizen, but I'd figure an American dark wheat would be like Oberon with some dark roasted malt. Whatever, this is not something I'd get again.

Crowler 3 days after pouring:
(*I'm giving a slight benefit of a doubt to look and feel due to the head space noted in the crowler, based it part off sample pour being different)
The head seemed to be struggling after pouring from the Crowler*. The lightly tanned bubbles hung on for the better part of a minute before giving into the thin ring that surrounds the surface. I vaguely recall a little better performance straight from the tap. The liquid allows light to shine through in points, showing a dark liquid.
The nose has a sort of spiced coffee impression that hits me first. Digging in, a little pumpernickel comes through morphing into a dry banana bread aroma. Quick impressions - pumpernickel, weak coffee, banana, a little orange rind; nearing medium feel, and carbonation level is a little light*. There's a light sweetness, and I'm having trouble placing what counters that to balance things, but I think it might be the roasted grain notes that I am getting at the edges.
Based on memory, I could see look going up between a half a point and a point, and aroma maybe gaining with the extra bubbles a fresh pour may bring. Definitely interested in having again.
