On draught at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass. It pours an opaque orange with brown hues and has a modest milk-white head and lacing. Its smell features sweet malt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and hints of lemon and orange peel. The ale is brewed with pumpkin puree and its taste opens with the slight bitterness of raw pumpkin meat. The spicing is spot on with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and ginger. Only at the finish does the malt sweetness appear, particularly as it warms in the glass. The mouth feel is moderately thick and creamy with a pleasant level of carbonation, and the 8% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, what I enjoyed most about Cemetery Hill is the authenticity of the pumpkin. It's not overly sweet and it's not merely a spiced ale. The brewery has done a nice job with it.
