Feiertag ("holiday" or "celebration day" in German) is a true celebration of malt. Flavors of deep caramel and freshly-baked bread combine with fruity notes for a malt-forward taste. Aromas of cherry complement nutty notes that come through on the nose. The dry finish makes this a pleasant beer to enjoy outside under the October-blue skies this autumn!

I had this on draught at the brewery. It was served in a tulip glass. It pours a clear, attractive cherry-orange color with a thin, milk-white cap and modest lacing. The nose is subdued with notes of caramel malt, subtle spicing, and whiffs of cherry and apple. Its taste opens with malty, caramel sweetness. What sets it apart, however, is the tangy cherry and apple at mid-sip. It's fruitier than most Märzens I've had but finishes with a touch of spice and hop bitterness. The mouth feel is crisp and lite with an appropriate level of carbonation and it drinks easily at 6.3% ABV. Overall, Feiertag is an interesting interpretation of the style; it offers more fruit and less dry, earthy bitterness than a typical Oktoberfest beer. It was most enjoyable on a sunny Fall Saturday.
