these guys have set up a little taproom outpost in a cool craft bar in madrid called la osita, and it was rad to get to sample some of their beers here, some of the more interesting and ambitious craft beers we encountered in spain. this one is an imperial berliner base, with a bunch of fruit in it, sort of a pina colada thing, but also mango and passion fruit in addition to pineapple and coconut, so good. its a little dense looking from the tap, hazy and sunny orange, with some fizz in the glass but very little head. nose and taste of tropical umbrella drink though, deliciously juicy and authentic, with the mango and coconut leading the way for me. the tart passion fruit lost a little to the lactic pucker which pushes lemon notes into this, and the pineapple comes through almost more as pineapple juice, sweet and less distinctive than the others to me, but uniquely this isnt all that sugary on the whole, and the sourness is dialed in impressively well, both in terms of how acidic it is, and how clean it is, no sweat, no cheese, no slop, this is well soured. lots of body between what must be fruit puree and quite a bit of wheat, but there are more bubbles than it shows and it drinks summery and lighter than it seems. really modern sour here, cool fruit mix, and fine execution, i think it being an imperial makes sense with all this flavor too, my wife and i both really dug this.
