Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a brown amber color with a tint of red/blue and a small head of off white foam. The head fades fast leaving just a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a roasted bready smell mixed with a lot of caramel and a little bit of harvest fruit. Along with those aromas were notes of corn and a little bit of an herb and earth.
Taste – The taste is rather heavy of a toasted and roasted malt, giving it a very deep amber like flavor. Along with these tastes comes strong flavors of caramel and a bit of brown sugar, as well as some tastes of a light graininess and corn. As the taste advances the roastiness and graininess grow stronger all while the sweet remains constant. With a light harvest fruit and a bit of herb and char coming in at the very end, one is left with nice roasty and toasty, but somewhat sweet and grainy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium with a carbonation level that is average. Overall, the feel was rather good for the style ant the flavor profile.
Overall – A rather flavorful amber. Big on grain, sweet, and roast with just a touch of corn and hop.
