From the "22 Sündenbock" label, it pours a clear dark amber (coppery?) color with a small head that diminishes to a ring. The nose gets an earthy scent - banana? sweet malt and alcohol. The taste follows - caramel, sweet malt and some smooth malty flavor overall.

Clear, cognac colour. High ecru foam with a medium-long reduction time. It leaves a lot of dirt.
Sweet malt, grain aroma with caramel, earthy, maybe spicy notes.
Dry taste with a slightly sour finish. Bitterness is tanned, herbal, tobacco and earthy.
High saturation. Body average, although sometimes the beer seems to be watery. Smooth texture. Long dry, herbal aftertaste.

"SinnersBock" has an interesting history and label
L: Deep copper with no apparent rising bubbles. head quickly disappears into a light cap with minimal lacing. No apparent sediment.
S: sweet. Honey and molasses.
T: smooth start but quickly moves to quite sweet. finishes crisp however. Hints of oak and leather. Cognac like. I feel like I should be in a smoking jacket with a big cigar while sipping this beer. Quite nice, the sweetness subsides after a few sips. Nice caramel.
F: somewhat thicker mouth feel... fills the mouth and gently pleases the tastebuds. very nice in the mouth. no carbonation sting or hops bite.
Very nice Doppelbock. Not too sweet. Nice smooth caramel flavour with hints of leather and smoke. I would definitley order this one in a gasthaus! Would be fantastic on tap.
