Poured from a can this beer is dark brown pouring. No light comes through when held up to the light. The head is white thick looking, coming in at 3 fingers. The head retention is pretty decent. There's a bit of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is pretty light. I do get a bit of malt and a bit of chocolate. Slight nuttiness.
The flavor is malty, as expected. A nice roasted nutty flavor comes through. Some chocolate from the malts also comes through.
The body is pretty decent for the style. It's not crazy thick like a stout.
Delicious and easy drinking overall.

I think for a 4.7% ABV porter that this is pretty good. The pour produces a beige to tan head but no real lacing occurs.
Aroma is lost on my nose, at least for now.
The taste starts out good, almost smoked like- and then settles down to a mild coffee like flavor and a touch of chocolate. Not complex at all, but for a sessionable beer, it’s pretty good.
The feel is what you might expect from the ABV, rather thin, not much body.
OA, it’s a good session porter, and that’s about it.

Harwood from Archival Brewing. 12 oz can. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Received from @Whyteboar in NBW BIF #16. Reviewed 14/01/23 (Review 3013). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 47.8 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 56.3 degrees.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour –Deep Amber (SRM 15), clear.
Body – Brown (SRM 20), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear lite, ruby at the edges and hazily ruby through the body – chill haze?.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.0 cm, aggressive center pour), almond, high density, good retention, dropping to an undulating 0.8 to 1.8 cm crown and a thin, rocky cap.
Lacing – Poor. Isolated irregular clots of foam hang on the glass.
Aroma – 4 – Chocolate malt with ghostly char. No hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Flavor follows the nose – lightly bitter chocolate malt, no hops, no yeast, no char. No ethanol (4.7 % ABV as marked on label) aroma or taste. No gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Light bitterness on the aftertaste.
Palate – 3.75 – Medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal container) Meeh. The whole is less than the sum of the parts.
